Our Small Club Grant Scheme is now officially closed for this year. All applicants have been notified of the outcome of their application. We would like to thank everyone who applied for taking the time to do so – we were delighted with the level of interest and engagement from clubs across the county. 74 Clubs representing 16 different sports were successful in this years grant scheme.
Safeguarding
Our safeguarding courses continue this month with the following dates available:
- Safeguarding 1: 8th October & 14th October
- Safeguarding 2: 28th October
All courses are delivered via Zoom and are classified as face-to-face courses. Each course is 3 hours long and takes place from 6 PM to 9 PM. It is of utmost importance that all club coaches hold a valid safeguarding qualification. Safeguarding 2 and 3 courses are designed for Child Protection Officers and Designated Liaison Persons respectively.
You can sign up for a course by clicking the button below.
Concussion Protocol
Click the button below to find information on the concussion protocol, which may be useful to your club. We encourage all clubs to review this information and share it with coaches and members to ensure the safety of participants.
Kilrush Programmes
Over the coming weeks, we will be running a programme in Kilrush called Try A Sport where a number of different clubs get together to run taster sessions for all children in the community. We would greatly appreciate it if you could share details of this programme with people in your club.
If you think the Try a Sport Programme could be beneficial in your area, please get in touch with us to discuss how we might make it happen locally.
Clare Sports Partnership Club Initiatives
As mentioned in previous newsletters, we run various Season of Respect Club Initiatives, including targeted programmes addressing abuse against officials and LGBTQI+ advocacy programmes. We encourage all clubs to get involved in these initiatives to ensure all members and the wider community feel included, respected, and safe. Positive values promoted through these initiatives should be shared with youth members and the broader community.
You can express interest in attending these programmes by clicking the buttons below.
Active Clubs
We want to thank all clubs who have recently partnered with us to run programmes across the county. Beginner sessions are a fantastic way to bring new members into your club.
If your club is interested in offering taster sessions or community programmes, we would love to hear from you – please just get in touch with Mary – mary@claresports.ie
Her Moves
Her Moves is a national campaign by Sport Ireland to inspire and support teenage girls to be active. It focuses on empowering young women, building confidence, and providing opportunities to find activities they enjoy.
We have been busy running Her Moves programmes in partnership with secondary schools throughout the county and will also be running community programmes over the coming weeks. We are focusing on golf for teen girls over the months of October and November.
We are also encouraging clubs to run taster sessions for teen girls. If this is something your club would like to get involved with, please contact Mary – mary@claresports.ie
As always we are here to help, if you have anything in mind to that you would like our help with delivering or if you have any questions or need any more information, please contact mary@claresports.ie.
