Clare Local Sports Partnership celebrated a special milestone with an evening marking 25 years of supporting and promoting sport and physical activity across the community, alongside the official launch of its new strategy. The event brought together people who have contributed to and supported the Partnership over the past 25 years, providing an opportunity to reflect on its journey, recognise the positive impact of its work across local communities and celebrate the people and partnerships that have helped shape it along the way.
Pat Sexton, Acting CEO of Clare Local Sports Partnership, highlighted the importance of the occasion:
Celebrating 25 years of Clare Sports Partnership is an extremely proud milestone, recognising the positive impact we have made in supporting sport and physical activity across County Clare. Moreover, the launch of our new strategy marks an exciting new chapter, reaffirming our commitment to creating a more active, inclusive and healthier Clare for everyone.
As well as celebrating this important anniversary, the evening marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter with the launch of the Partnership’s new strategy. Setting out its vision and priorities for the years ahead, the strategy builds on past achievements and reinforces the Partnership’s commitment to making sport and physical activity accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for everyone in County Clare.
Among the highlights of the special event was a video presentation showcasing some of the impact of the Sports Partnership’s programmes including Active Schools, Sports Inclusion Disability programmes, Community Sports Hubs, Bike Week, swimming, running/walking programmes and club development.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended the event and to all those who have been part of our journey over the past 25 years. We look forward to building on this strong foundation, creating new opportunities and continuing to get more people active across our communities in Clare for many years to come!
