Clare Local Sports Partnership (CLSP) proudly hosted a Stakeholder Breakfast to celebrate its recent recognition as Local Sports Partnership of the Year. The event, held at the Clare Education Centre, brought together key partners to acknowledge the collaborative efforts that contributed to this prestigious achievement. CLSP was honoured with the LSP of the Year in 2024 by the Federation of Irish Sport’s, Sport Industry awards, in recognition of its outstanding contributions to promoting sport and physical activity across Clare. This accolade highlights the organisation’s commitment to inclusion, innovation, and community engagement in making sport accessible to all.

John Sweeney, CEO of Clare Local Sports Partnership, expressed his gratitude at the event:

Winning LSP of the Year is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, partners, and community members. It is through strong collaboration that we continue to create opportunities for people of all abilities to engage in sport and physical activity. I would like to thank the continued support of all our stakeholders and belief in us. I would also like to thank the commitment from the board of directors, in ensuring that the governance of the organisation if of the highest standard. Finally, the staff of the LSP are the engine of the organisation. I would like to thank you for all your work across all your work areas. This award is testament to your dedication.

The breakfast gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on the successes of the past year, discuss future initiatives, and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders. Attendees included representatives from Clare Education Centre, Clare County Council, HSE, Limerick Clare ETB, Mid-West Regional Drugs Task Forum and Clare Local Development Company, Clare Volunteer Centre and the National Council for Special Education, all of whom play a role in LSP’s continued success.

Among the highlights of the event was a visual presentation showcasing the impact of CLSP programmes including Active Schools, Sports Inclusion Disability programmes, Community Sports Hubs, Sport for those in recovery from addiction and initiatives aimed at promoting cycling, swimming, running/walking and club development.

Looking ahead, Clare Local Sports Partnership remains committed to building on this success by expanding its programmes, fostering new collaborations, and continuing to make a positive impact on communities across Clare.
