Small Club Grant Scheme

We are delighted to launch our small club grant scheme for 2025. This year the grant has changed slightly and now clubs will be able to apply for funding/equipment through one of the four available streams: Equipment packs, First Aid courses and equipment, Community Programmes and Volunteer Education and Training initiatives. Applicants are invited to apply for one of the funding streams listed above.

Applicants applying under the community programmes or volunteer training and education streams are asked to outline their proposed plans in as much detail as possible. Successful applicants for equipment packs or first aid courses/equipment will be able to collect these from mid-June. No additional reporting will be required. The equipment packs will contain a variety of equipment that would be beneficial for clubs starting up nursery programmes, fundamental movement programmes, club camps, schools programmes and will be suitable for multiple age groups. Packs will also contain a pack of sports specific equipment i.e. rugby balls, basketballs, sliotars etc.

The deadline for applications is Friday May 30th at 5pm. For more information or if anyone has any questions, please contact mary@claresports.ie.

LGBTQ+ Advocate Training for Sports Clubs

Clare Sports Partnership, in collaboration with Sporting Pride and with funding from the Dormant Accounts Programme, is excited to announce the launch of a new LGBTQ+ Advocate Training Programme aimed at making sports clubs across Clare more inclusive and welcoming for everyone.

This initiative invites sports clubs to nominate members to become LGBTQ+ Advocates—people who are willing to support LGBTQ+ teammates, challenge discrimination, and promote a culture of respect and inclusion within their clubs.

What is an LGBTQ+ Advocate? You don’t need to be an expert to be an advocate—just someone who cares. Advocates will learn how to speak up against discriminatory language, support LGBTQ+ members and teammates, encourage inclusive club policies and practices and be a safe and supportive point of contact.

Participants will receive free training (in-person or online), ongoing support and check-ins, resources, posters, and toolkits, connection with a network of advocates across Clare and an automatic entry into a draw to win €250 for your club!

Each course is 3 hours long and take place from 6pm-9pm. It is of utmost importance that all club coaches hold a valid safeguarding qualification. We also offer safeguarding 2 and safeguarding 3 courses designed for child protection officer and designated liaison persons respectively.
