Win €100 towards sports equipment for your school!
Clare Sports Partnership, Clare Education Centre, and Healthy Clare are teaming up to launch an exciting new initiative for primary school staff across County Clare — the Staffroom Steppers Challenge! This challenge is a fun and healthy way to get active, connect with colleagues, and show your school spirit!
The Challenge:
From January 19th to February 13th 2026 , all primary school staff (teachers, SNAs, secretaries, caretakers, and more) are invited to take part by walking as many kilometers as possible during this time.
How it works:
- Clare Sports Partnership will track your school’s progress over the month via the Strava app (explanation on how to download/use Strava app will be included)

At the end, Clare Sports Partnership will add up all the kilometers walked by staff in each school.

The school with the highest total distance walked will be not only be crowned the Staffroom Steppers Champions, but they will also win €100 voucher to purchase sports equipment for their school!
Competition Categories:
- Small school = 100 pupils or less
- Medium school = 101 – 499 pupils
- Large school = 500+ pupils
This challenge is completely free but each staff member who is taking part must register in order to be part in the challenge. The registration form can be found below. Deadline for registering for this challenge is Friday January 9th 2026.
Please note – you do not need to have a smart watch or a fitness watch to participate in this challenge. You can simply download the Strava app to your mobile phone. Please click Strava Explanation for more information.
