This October, participants from the Kilrush Indian Association laced up their runners, embraced the outdoors, and conquered an incredible goal during our Walk County Clare Challenge. 32 dedicated participants collectively walked a jaw-dropping 870.91 kilometers—a testament to teamwork, determination, and the power of putting one foot in front of the other!
The Challenge: A Shared Goal
The Walk County Clare Challenge invited participants of all fitness levels to step out of their comfort zones and log as many kilometers as they could throughout the month. Participants had the choice of different walking distances:
- 10KM (Ennis to Kilmaley)
- 20KM (Ennis to Tulla)
- 30KM (Ennis to Miltown Malbay)
- 40KM (Ennis to Kilrush)
- 80KM (Ennis to Loophead).
The goal was more than just distance, however – it was about fostering connection, improving health, and celebrating individual achievements within a supportive community.
Over the course of the month, participants collectively walked a total of 870.91km, with more than half successfully completing their chosen distance!
The Results: Incredible Achievements
Over 31 days, our participants pushed their limits, reaching a grand total of 870.91 kilometers—nearly the equivalent of walking from London to Paris and back!
Each walker brought their own unique energy to the challenge:
- Some aimed for personal records, achieving new levels of fitness
- Others took daily strolls, enjoying the mental and emotional benefits of time outdoors
Recognition of Dedication
To honor their hard work and determination, every participant received a medal—a small but meaningful token to commemorate their effort and dedication. Seeing the smiles and pride as participants received their awards was the highlight of the event!
