Safeguarding

Our safeguarding courses continue to take place this month with our next one with availability being June 18th, this will be the last course before the summer and the next course will be delivered in early autumn. These are delivered via Zoom and are classified as face-to-face courses. Each course is 3 hours long and take place from 6pm-9pm in the evening. It is of utmost importance that all club coaches hold a valid safeguarding qualification. We also offer safeguarding 2 and safeguarding 3 courses designed for child protection officer and designated liaison persons respectively.

Our next Safeguarding 1 course is taking place on June 18th. Book your place by clicking the button below.

Clare Sports Partnership Club Initiatives

As mentioned in previous newsletters we run various Season Of Respect Club Initiatives including targeted programmes for abuse against officials and LGBTQI+ advocate programmes. We would encourage all clubs to get involved as much as possible with these programmes. It is important to engage in these programmes to ensure that all members and the wider community feel included, respected, and safe. Equally, it is vital that the positive values promoted through these initiatives are passed on to the youth members of the club and the broader community.

If you’re interested in attending either of these programmes, you can sign up using the buttons below.

Active Clubs

We would like to say a huge thank you again to all the clubs who have recently partnered with us to run programmes throughout the month of May and into June. West Coast Surf club have come on board to run a ladies beginner surf programme which will begin this week. Spanish Point Golf Club are currently running a ladies beginner golf programme which has also been very successful. We would love to see more clubs come on board to partner in running introduction sessions this summer. These beginner sessions can be a great way to gain new members for your club.

If your club is interested in offering summer taster sessions, we’d love to hear from you – please just get in touch with Mary – mary@claresports.ie

Her Moves

Her Moves is a national campaign by Sport Ireland designed to inspire and support teenage girls to be active. It aims to empower young women, build confidence, and provide opportunities to find activities they enjoy. The programme focuses on creating inclusive and supportive environments that encourage girls to participate in physical activity, whether it’s through dance, fitness, team sports, or adventure activities.

We have been very busy over the winter months running Her Moves programmes in partnership with various secondary schools throughout the county in an effort to tackle the ongoing issue of the high drop out rate of teen girls in sport. This summer we are also running community programmes across the county. We would love if you could share these events with any girl you think might be interested.

We are also hoping to get as many clubs as possible to run taster sessions for teen girls over the summer months, if this is something your club would be interested in please contact Mary – mary@claresports.ie

As always we are here to help, if you have anything in mind to that you would like our help with delivering or if you have any questions or need any more information, please contact mary@claresports.ie.
